Job Overview

The part-timeadjunctfaculty position inphysicswill involve the teaching of 1st and 2nd yearphysicslaboratory and lecture courses, delivered either online or in-person. Teaching responsibilities will include the conduction of lab/lecture, grading, communicating with students, and maintaining a strong online presence through UC's learning management system (Canvas).

Essential Functions

  • On a part-time basis, conduct and teach undergraduate courses
  • Engage in activities in support of the teaching of the course
  • Reply promptly to all inquiries related to university-wide communications
  • Consistent communication online with students and fellow faculty members
  • Other related duties as they arise

Minimum Requirements

  • Master's degree or higher in physics. Alternatively, a bachelor's degree or higher in any discipline accompanied by eighteen graduate credit hours in physics
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to teach online
  • Ability to convey complex scientific concepts to students with diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to work and collaborate with individuals from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds
