** We offer outstanding Benefits ** Job Title: Life and Safety Door Maintenance Mechanic 1 Location: Baltimore, MD Position Type: Full time, Hourly, Dayshift Job Summary: Performs maintenance, inspection, adjustment, repair, installation, and modification work on building doors, closers, lock sets, frames knob sets, door armor, and door stops following Compartmentation guidelines. This work is performed under general supervision using the tools and techniques of life safety technology. Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of formal training in an approved Life Safety program at a vocational or technical school, college, or apprenticeship sponsor organization. Knowledge: Knowledge of Life Safety techniques, procedures and materials especially pertinent to door systems and components and asbestos. Extensive knowledge of building codes, fire codes and standards. Knowledge of safety rules, procedures and practices, including the proper use of safety equipment as defined by OSHA and industry standards. Required Certification: Johns Hopkins Hospital Certificate Work Experience: Requires 5 years related work experience. The full-time equivalent spent in an approved program may count toward the 5-year work experience requirement. Salary Range: Minimum 26.96 per hour - Maximum 31.30 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
