Summary of Job Duties:The Director of Licensure and Academic Data Management serves as the liaison between the University of Arkansas and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) through the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE). The Director is involved in all areas of teacher licensure including initial standard, provisional, out of state, and endorsements requiring programs of study. In addition, the Director maintains and reports on local and national databases to the university, state, and accrediting bodies. Finally, the Director communicates regularly with students on the status of their application for licensing and provides documentation and background check services to all teacher candidates.

This person is also the liaison between the College of Education & Health Professions (COEHP) and the University's Office of Strategic Analytics and Insights. This includes, but is not limited to, producing reports related to Student Success, such as student enrollment, degree completion, retention. It also includes external reporting for entities such as U.S. News and World Report and Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). This individual will run queries and produce reports using systems such as Slate, Workday Student, and UAConnect.
The position reports to the Associate Dean of Academic and Student Affairs.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master'sdegree from an accredited institution of higher education

  • Demonstrated experience understanding and interpreting rules and regulations

  • Experience working with public agencies

  • Experience creating reports for agencies such as accreditation, etc.

  • Experience with data management

  • Experience with customer service

  • Experience working with information databases (i.e., Access)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's in Education, Educational Statistics, Education Policy, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education

  • Experience in educator licensure and/or working with state guidelines in education

  • At least three years of experience teaching in a P-12 setting

  • Experience training adults

  • Experience managing projects

  • At least three to five years of experience in higher education, educator licensure, academic advising, and/or related experience in a collegiate setting

  • Desire to learn new methods of data analysis

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Ability to merge multiple datasets and extract meaningful information for reporting or further analysis
