In the role of a Postdoctoral Researcher you will be working in Pediatrics. PurposeUnder the co-supervision of the PIs, and in consultation with clinical collaborators, perform engineering-based research applicable to cardiovascular disease as part of an extramurally funded project. The successful applicant will create computational models from medical imaging data and run simulations to reveal the mechanical stimuli associated with disease progression for patients with calcification of their bicuspid aortic valve. The successful applicant will also work to associate the mechanical stimuli revealed with mechanistic predictors using advanced statistical and laboratory approaches.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong sense of initiative and ability to complete tasks requiring independent judgment as well as function successfully in an environment that promotes teamwork and collaboration. Demonstrate excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills. Proficiency with computer aided design and computational modeling software packages (e.g.; SolidWorks, Ansys, Abaqus, Fluent, SimVascular, etc). Sufficient knowledge of program study area.
