THE JOB:

It is the primary responsibility of the Chef Concierge at The Cosmopolitan to create, implement, develop and maintain a concierge department that ensures a high level of service and response to the needs of the guests. To comprise and maintain a staff of polished, well-trained professional concierges capable of delivering unparalleled service that demands guest loyalty. The Chef Concierge will set the standards of professionalism for the department through the development of procedures and the training of service skills. The candidate will instruct and enforce the proper behaviors of protocol and etiquette that will reflect positively on the overall perception of MGM Resorts and its service culture. Other duties will include developing and maintaining vendor and community relationships in the interests of the management and guest. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and MGM Resorts policies, practices, and procedures.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Manages the consistency in the delivery of guest service with the company's core standards and brand attributes.
  • Provides input into the research, development, evaluation and implementation of new products, services, technology and processes to ensure competitive position in anticipation of changing customer needs within the dynamic hospitality and gaming environment.
  • Develops and implements departmental policies and procedures which ensure prompt efficient service to all guests.
  • Manages Human Resources responsibilities for Concierge department. Creates and maintains a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance, feedback, recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction. Ensures that departmental practices are compliant with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Ensures the concierge staff's continued growth and development by updating them on all aspects of Las Vegas and through training of service-related topics.
  • Oversees the assigned operational functions within the department consistent with the strategic plan and vision for the department, the division and the property.
  • Interacts and communicates with partners on the integration of services provided to guests.
  • Manages and monitors daily labor and departmental budget and controls through forecasting.
  • Serves as a public relations representative exhibiting a professional demeanor and willingness to assist guests and leadership when requested.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • 2+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience in direction and management of employees in a similar hotel environment.
  • Experience as an Assistant Chef Concierge, VIP Manager, Resort Operations Manager, or similar.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in hospitality, management, or related field.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Previous experience managing employees under a collective bargaining agreement.
  • Five Star/Five Diamond experience.
  • Membership in Les Clefs d'Or.
  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
