About the Job

Research Scientist 2 will report directly to a Postdoctoral Fellow on high-impact research projects aimed at in vivo gene therapy for treatment of Fanconi anemia. Work on these projects will lead to co-authorship on multiple academic papers. This position will include maintaining a mouse colony (e.g. genotyping and setting up breeding cages), molecular biology techniques (e.g. genomic DNA preparation, PCR, restriction enzyme digestion), biochemical techniques (e.g. Western blot analyses), and advanced mammalian cell culture techniques (e.g. CRISPR-based gene editing approaches).

70% Lab Experiments

20% Data Compilation and Analysis

10% Routine Lab Maintenance

Qualifications

All required qualifications must be documented on application materials

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in biological sciences field plus at least 1 year of experience or a combination of related education and work experience to equal five years.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in mouse research
  • Experience with PCR
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture
Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $20.00 - $30.00/hr; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment: 75%-100% Appointment
