About the Job

Position Overview

This is a research coordinator position for a research project funded by the National Institute of Mental Health. This project is a four-year longitudinal, mixed-method study on adolescents' social media use and mental health. Position is dependent upon grant funding. Job Responsibilities

Project Administration (20%)

  • Prepare correspondence, documents and reports.
  • Maintain and file forms and documents.
  • Interact with the principal investigator and project director regularly. Attend project and lab meetings.

Research Support (80%)

  • Assist with the collection of survey, behavioral, and interview data from adolescent participants.
  • Assist with the screening, recruiting, and obtaining consent/assent of study participants. Prepare online recruitment advertisements.
  • Prepare and administer daily diary and periodic surveys among participants via REDCap or other survey software. Perform quantitative review of forms, tests, and other measurements for completeness and accuracy.
  • Perform and organize the labeling of screenshot data collected from participants' smartphones.
  • Monitor data collected real-time with our study software and update information in spreadsheets. Track number of assessments conducted daily and keep a log of those data. Report data on a weekly basis to the research teams.
  • Manage participant records, including the screening survey and participant consent/assent forms.
  • Perform phone calls and emails contacting potential participants about their interests, questions and screen for eligibility in the study. Schedule for study onboarding and consent/assent procedure.
  • Process study compensation payments and thank you letters to subjects upon completion of study participation.
  • Assist with post-study activities, as needed.
  • Prepare emails/text messages, meeting notes, participant information sheets, and reports on data collection.
  • Assist in the preparation of human subjects applications and progress reports for institutional review board.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Four-year college degree and related experience and/or in social science studies, particularly with adolescents, families, and/or technology use.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with people from a variety of communities, backgrounds, and identities.
  • General computer skills and ability to quickly learn and master computer programs.
  • Ability to work under deadlines with general guidance.
  • Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to complete detailed work accurately.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with adolescents and their families.

Preferred Qualifications

  • General understanding of scientific theory and methods.
  • Experience and/or interest in conducting social and behavioral research with adolescents and their families.
  • Experience and/or interest in using research software and databases including Excel, Qualtrics, SPSS/R/SAS/Python.
  • Experience and/or interest in research collecting intensive longitudinal data and/or image data.
  • Capacity to work non-standard, extended or weekend hours in support of research work.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $55,000.
