The Product Standards Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet the company's quality, safety, and compliance standards. This role involves close collaboration with product development, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to develop and implement standards, conduct product testing, conduct product reviews and inspections, and address quality issues. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, knowledge of furniture product construction and manufacturing processes, and a passion for maintaining high product standards. Pay: $71,000 - $80,000 annual salary (Based on experience) Job Responsibilities
- Develop and Implement Standards:
- Collaborate with product development, quality assurance, and manufacturing teams to establish and document quality standards for new and existing products.
- Create and update product specifications, testing protocols, and inspection criteria.
- Provide expert guidance to the QA team and leadership on product construction and packaging standards
- Quality Assurance and Testing:
- Conduct and oversee product inspections and testing to ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze inspection and test results and provide feedback to relevant teams to address any quality issues.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all products comply with applicable safety standards and regulations.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and standards, and implement changes as needed.
- Supplier and QC Collaboration:
- Work with suppliers to ensure materials and components meet quality standards.
- Conduct supplier audits and assessments to verify compliance with company requirements.
- Collaborate with domestic and international QA and QC teams to ensure adherence to product standards.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for improvement in product quality and manufacturing processes.
- Lead or participate in quality improvement initiatives and projects.
- Conduct product reviews and inspections to initiate corrective action plan for improvements to include the closed loop process.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of product standards, test results, product inspections and quality issues.
- Prepare and present reports on product quality and compliance to management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering, Product Development, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum Education Requirement: High School or vocational high school
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in product quality assurance, standards development, or a related role in the furniture industry with expertise in Case Goods and/or Soft Goods.
- Experience with product inspections, testing, compliance, and safety regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in quality management software and tools.
- Proficiency in furniture quality assurance and manufacturing.
Work Environment
- Based in the Bob's Distribution Center (Taftville, CT DC or Aberdeen, MD DC)
- This position may require occasional domestic and international travel to supplier sites, manufacturing facilities, trade shows and Bob's DC's
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
