Languages Needed:Chinese Cantonese -**Chinese Mandarin is a plus

The Foreign Language Medical Interpreter II role facilitates health related communication between Health Care Providers (HCPs) and Limited English Proficient (LEP) patients, ensuring that patients receive understandable and respectful care that is in keeping with their cultural health beliefs, practices and primary language.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: Advanced knowledge of medical terminology in source and target language as evidenced by passing score on ICCS on-line test and completion of 100 hour LANA training or a Medical Degree or Registered Nursing Degree from a US based educational institution required. 2. License/Certifications: N/A 3. Experience: Advanced training and/or experience in medical interpretation as evidenced by completion of 12 hour LANA (or comparable) required. Basic Interpreter course and documented medical interpreting experience required. 4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Fluency or comparable skill level in both English and the target language(s) as evidenced by Pacific (or comparable) Bilingual Language test. 5. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: N/A
