We seek a Lead Medical Assistant who is not just skilled in their role, but is passionate about pioneering innovative healthcare solutions. As part of a start-up subsidiary of Maine Health, you will play a crucial role in shaping our clinical practices and patient experiences from the ground up. This position requires flexibility, a high level of autonomy, and a proactive approach to both problem-solving and patient care. The Medical Assistant - Lead is an unlicensed medical professional cross-trained to perform routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the Trellis Health clinic running smoothly. In addition to administrative duties, the Medical Assistant - Lead performs clinical duties under direct provider supervision in accordance with state medical practice acts. The Medical Assistant - Lead is an integral member of a Care Team that is focused on providing excellent and comprehensive primary care for a specific population of patients, and sets the standard of care for other Medical Assistants to follow. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) 1.Education:High school diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following requirements: graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis). 2.License/Certifications:Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification required. Current BLS certification required. An NH Med Tech License is required for those positions located in New Hampshire. 3.Experience:2-5 years of experience as a Medical Assistant required. 4.Basic Life Support certification: Within first 90 days. 5. NSHC Health Coaching Certificate within 6 months. (facilitated with Trellis Health). Additional Skills/Requirements Required:
