Feed Mill Operator

Operates Feed Department in an efficient manner with respect to production, quality, sanitation, and safety.Schedule is 2nd shift, 3pm-11pm and rate is $29.39 per hour.

Job Duties:

  • Maintains correct and proper operation of all equipment pertaining to the feed department.
  • Records data, secures samples, monitors bin inventories and performs necessary process control tests required for thesuccessful operation of the plant
  • Notifies supervisor of irregularities
  • Removes choke-ups and feeds in spills
  • Performs minor repair work as required for the efficient operation of the feed equipment
  • Cleans internal parts of the equipment in the feed building
  • Performs any necessary lubrication in emergency situationswhere loss of production could occur when the Oiler is not present
  • Maintains the cleanliness of the feed building
  • Employees designated as the Relief Operator will maintain their seniority on the first shift. When relieving, their seniority will apply to theapplicable shift assignment
  • Replaces Rotex screen wires
  • Performsmiscellaneousjob-related duties as assigned
  • Commitment to supply safe food, maintain a food safety culture within the site, continually improve the site's food safety managementsystem; and comply with customer and regulatory requirements

Skills/requirements:

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of basic math.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Understanding the operations of the packing and loading department.
  • Be able to work effectively with others in a team environment.
