Position Summary

Responsible for providing supervision and operational direction for the delivery of psychiatric services in the emergency room. Works with multi-disciplinary team in the Emergency Department to provide quality psychiatric service. When on-site, Takes and Resolves Called in Schedule changes and Takes and Resolves or Refers to Manager the Clinical Called in or On Site questions. When Off Duty, Takes and Resolves On-Call Schedule changes and Takes and Resolves or Refers to Manager the Clinical On-Call questions.

II. Principal Duties and Responsibilities




  1. Monitor and evaluates clinical and non-clinical contact between psychiatric evaluator staff, psychiatric nursing, and emergency room physician leadership, serving complex patients, their families, primary care and specialty provider stakeholder partnerships, monitoring adherence to protocols and appropriate clinical interaction
  2. Monitors area safety, clinical effectiveness, productivity, staffing breaks and patient access to services
  3. Reviews high-risk cases for clinical appropriateness and correct documentation
  4. Works with multi-disciplinary team in the Emergency Department to provide quality psychiatric service.
  5. Oversees all insurance authorizations necessary to treat patients.

Education and licensure

Requires social work, or related field and minimum of 5-8 years of experience in management which includes experience in clinical staff development and education, quality; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Maintains current un-restricted licensure as an LCSW-C or LCPC-C requires master's degree.

Crisis experience in mental health and substance use strongly preferred

Effectively communicate both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.

Salary Range: Minimum 41.09 per hour - Maximum 67.84 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
