We are actively looking for a Proposal Coordinator to join our Norfolk office. Working as part of Moffatt & Nichol's marketing team, this is an opportunity to learn the business development process while contributing to the firm's success. We look for people who are organized, anxious to learn, interested in the engineering/construction industry, and detail-oriented. This role supports Proposal Managers through the pursuit process, from positioning and capture planning through post-proposal submittal debriefing.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Assists in the development of marketing materials, proposals, qualifications statements, and other business development documents, often at the direction of a senior member of the marketing staff
  • Works independently when needed on assignments but also as part of a team on larger tasks
  • Will focus on learning Moffatt & Nichol's engineering business development process from the ground up
  • Assists in the marketing material close-out process, following internal standards and processes to capture newly created content in our marketing library and online Deltek database
  • Participates in business development strategy meetings, focused on learning and understanding Moffatt & Nichol's sales process
  • Is willing to be mentored to learn "what makes a strong proposal manager" for their career development
  • Can thrive in a deadline-driven, often short-fuse environment.
  • Completes a wide variety of concurrent tasks for multiple partners, including content creation (writing), working with subconsultants, print production, content updates, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a business, marketing, communication, engineering, or other related field; required
  • 0-5 years of experience in a marketing/sales environment; required
  • Experience in the architecture/engineering/construction industry; preferred
  • Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, with preference for Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign); required
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment; a must
  • Work in a flexible schedule (nights/weekends as needed), sometimes on short notice, ability to travel as needed
  • Excellent grammar/written communications skills; required
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work at the direction of a wide variety of personalities in a fast-paced environment
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Physical requirements:

Work is generally performed in an office or client office setting. Ability to use standard office equipment is required.
