Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $16.63 - Midpoint: $19.95 (Hourly N3)

Department/Organization: 509101 - Construction Administration

Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm

Job Summary: The Construction Support Assistant I assists in the organization and coordination of construction office operations, procedures, and resources. Oversees the construction submittal process on all projects. Communicates and collaborates with the designer of record to retrieve and log submittals.

Additional Department Summary: The Construction Support Assistant acts as submittal manager for all projects in which their Project Managers are assigned. Oversees the construction submittal process on all projects in which their Project Managers are assigned. Communicates and collaborates with the designer of record to retrieve and log submittals at certain stages of the project to share with the UA Design team, Project Manager, Field Coordinator, campus partners, etc. Oversee collection of return comments from multiple University staff, compile all comments, and ensure they are returned to the designer of record within three business days. Push urgent submittals and returns through quicker as needed.

Acts as closeout coordinator on all projects in which their Project Managers are assigned. Collaborates with Procurement Services, BACPP, UA partners, contractors, and architects to determine what closeout documents are needed for each project. Meets with each Project Manager weekly / bi-weekly (not including OAC and closeout meetings) to work through what is needed to close each project. Monitors progress and communicate with external partners to retrieve what is needed to close projects (as-builts, invoices, etc.).

Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

Skills and Knowledge: Strong work ethic, focus, and excellent communication skills with internal and external partners.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with construction project management software, Microsoft O365, and DocuSign.
