North America Quality Center (NAQC) is the quality arm
of Hyundai Motor Group (HMG) based in S. Korea and oversees all quality problems
raised in North America. NAQC Investigation Team's primary objective is to identify
a range of quality issues within the North American market and implement
targeted corrective actions to minimize quality problems in the field. This
ensures alignment with the increasing demands of sophisticated consumers,
contributing to the company's overall success. We are committed to becoming the

NAQC is currently
looking for an Electrical Engineer II in Chino/Irvine, CA, who will:

Be a part of the investigation team to conduct various types of field
investigations to collect duplication data and analyze the data to identify the
root cause and share findings through technical investigation reports. The
candidate is expected to have knowledge of the inner workings of automotive
electronics and should have troubleshooting/root cause analysis skills to
identify a problem and provide appropriate resolution recommendations. The
individual will be required to collaborate with the various stakeholders (i.e.
HMG Quality Team, HMG R&D, suppliers, North American affiliates) to plan/execute joint activities to achieve a common goal.

day-to-day basis, the Electrical Engineer ...


  • Performs
    quality investigations on Genesis, Hyundai, or Kia (HMG) vehicles based on
    warranty claim analysis results and severities
  • Conducts
    field or on-site investigations to accurately define duplicating conditions
    for quality problems related to all electrical systems
  • Instruments various
    DAQ systems to prototype & customer vehicles to capture vehicle ECU
    data
  • Publishes
    technical reports on electrical system evaluations and investigations to
    provide recommendations for HMG R&D and Quality teams for improvements
  • Performs
    part failure analysis on electrical components to identify root causes and
    generate an investigation report to share the findings with the
    corresponding vendor(s) and other quality divisions
  • Provides
    technical support and participates in various product evaluation programs
    with N.A. sales affiliates and assembly plants
  • Conducts ECU
    Over-The-Air (OTA) update validations to confirm market deployment
    readiness
  • Works
    closely with vendors to investigate the root causes of problems and confirm the effectiveness of countermeasures
  • Collaborates with
    different departments to resolve complex, system-interconnected issues
  • Provides
    engineering support to dealers (remote or onsite) for non-fixable problems
    by performing root cause analysis and providing methods of resolution
  • Support other activities
    within the same group to achieve the group's overall KPI when necessary
  • Perform supplier
    audits to ensure the quality of the products delivered to HMG
  • Studies
    J.D. Power, Consumer Reports, and other Automotive Syndicated studies to
    identify market trends and benchmark competitors that are Best In Class



Candidates considered will...



  • Basic Qualifications:


    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering
    • 3+ years of
      experience in the area of QA/QC, Quality Improvement, or Vehicle Quality
      Investigation & Root Cause Analysis
    • Travel up to 30% of the time, both domestically and internationally
    • Valid
      Driver's License and satisfactory driving record
    • Preferred Qualifications:
      • Familiar with Vector CANalzyer/CANoe/CANape, Oscilloscope, and Spectrum Analyzer
      • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
      • General project management experience

    • Compensation : $78,000~105,000 (Annually)
