Avian Pathology Clinical Resident/Fellow - Pathobiology

The Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine, in conjunction with the Alabama Department of Agricultural and Industries Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory System, invites applicants for a combined residency and graduate program leading to the Master of Science degree in Veterinary Biomedical Sciences ( VBMS) with a focused specialty concentration in Avian Pathology. The ACPV accredited program is designed for veterinarians seeking a career with the commercial poultry industry, diagnostic laboratories, universities, state and federal agencies or pharmaceutical companies.

At the end of training, Clinical Fellows will receive a certificate of residency completion Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences.

General goals of the program:

This program provides comprehensive training in aspects of poultry disease mechanisms, which are most relevant to avian health as well as the ability to use poultry pathology, immunology and microbiology as part of the systematic approach to disease or management related problem investigations.

Although residency training is combined with M.S. graduate degree training, candidates already possessing graduate degree(s) in pathology or other biomedical sciences are also encouraged to apply.

4) Three letters of recommendation from pathologists or mentors in pathology-adjacent disciplines
5) biographical sketch describing your interest and experiences in poultry health and disease

Application packages must be completed prior to January 15, 2025, to be considered for matriculation the following June. Accepted applicants will be notified by March 1, 2025.
