Post-Doctoral Position in Aquatic Ecology and Environmental Policy

A post-doctoral position is available to work with Dr. Patrick D. Shirey at the Ecology Policy Lab in the Department of Geology and Environmental Science at the University of Pittsburgh. Primary duties will include helping coordinate research and contributing to team projects involving graduate (PhD) and undergraduate students. The successful candidate should have strong analytical and communication skills and hold a PhD in ecology, fisheries, aquatic science, hydrology, environmental science, or a closely related field. The individual hired will have the opportunity to collaborate with ongoing projects that investigate 1) stream ecosystem response to restoration, including acid mine drainage remediation and wetland construction; 2) reconstruction of environmental histories using diatoms from sediment cores; and 3) environmental laws and policies pertaining to water quality, endangered species, and Environmental Justice.

The position is supported for up to 2 years with a flexible start date.
