Job Description

Visa University (VU) is seeking a Data & Analytics Manager to join the global team. You will support the global and regional teams by articulating the impact of VU learning initiatives and providing operational insights for data-driven decision-making through your expertise in data analysis and visualization. You will play a crucial role in data governance and process management and contribute to our learning data experience.

Responsibilities:

Business and Data Analytics

  • Be an innovative thinker passionate about brainstorming and implementing creative ways to use learning and secondary data (such as people or talent data) to measure the impact of Visa University programs.
  • Extract and understand data to form opinions on how to best help and derive relevant insights for our stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with global and regional learning teams to understand their reporting and analytics needs and deliver solutions that meet these needs.
  • Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging learning data to drive business solutions.

Visualization & Reporting

  • Act as a strategic business partner, fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders to promote a data-driven decision-making culture.
  • Translate complex data sets into clear and actionable visual insights that resonate with various stakeholders.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to understand their data requirements and provide expert advice on potential data solutions and visualizations.
  • Continuously innovate and improve dashboard designs to ensure they are user-friendly, intuitive, and aligned with business goals.
  • Leverage advanced visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, advanced Excel, and Watershed to develop and maintain interactive and visually appealing dashboards and reports.
  • Conduct needs assessments and gather requirements to ensure that dashboards meet the specific needs of different departments and teams.
  • Provide training and support to stakeholders on interpreting and utilizing dashboards effectively.

Data Engineering

  • Work extensively with SQL databases to create, manage, and optimize views and tables for data integration and reporting purposes.
  • Write and maintain complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources.
  • Combine data from multiple sources to create a unified view of business performance and support comprehensive analytics.
  • Use Python for data analysis and manipulation, and to automate tasks where necessary.
  • Implement and oversee data governance policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy and security.
  • Perform quality assurance on data and deliverables.
  • Design and manage data processes, from data collection and storage to analysis and reporting.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in advanced visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
  • Proficiency in SQL
  • Demonstrable programming ability in different languages (e.g., Python).
  • Experience with data governance and process management.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience with HR/Learning data preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and effectively with global teams.
  • Team-oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible style, with the ability to tailor data-driven results to various audience levels.
  • Able to work unsupervised and efficiently while designing, implementing, and documenting processes to ensure high-quality work.
  • Detail-oriented, expected to ensure the highest level of quality and rigor in reports and data analysis.
  • Exhibit intellectual curiosity and strive to continually learn.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to think quickly.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Experience in using Generative AI tools for reporting and analytics is preferred.
Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 119,100.00 to 172,600.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
