The Agile Project Manager is responsible for supervising personnel, managing task assignments and tracking progress from planning through completion, and developing relevant standard operating processes, and identify opportunities for quality improvement for specific products within scope. This person will support a team of IT and PMO professionals to deliver project success in support of a large health-based federal agency. This person must be resourceful, detail-oriented, and 100% client-focused, with a continuing passion for your profession.

Responsibilities

    Establish and maintain project management support services tailoring the project management approach to team and project needs.
  • Analyze project management and task order management needs and tailor industry best practices to suit the environment; apply a wide range of traditional and agile principles to provide responsive and effective project management solutions.
  • Apply knowledge of federal government planning, programming, and budgeting as well as resource planning and execution processes, to support customer program planning, decision briefings, and progress assessment across multiple projects.
  • Work with stakeholders to define clear project objectives and requirements, agree on priorities, communicate progress updates and demonstrations, and provide responsive change management in frequent planning/re-planning meetings.
  • Document requirements in business cases, project charters, and project plans; update these documents to record progress and changes.
  • Work with cross-functional teams with diverse technical still-setto support successful project completion; re-plan and adjust project courses based on realities of team velocity and dynamic business/user needs.
  • Track progress and report on status and metrics at the task/work package and project level.
  • Support the creation of a project management dashboard for providing timely progress information to project teams and customer management.
  • Devise issue and risk management and mitigation strategies and engage appropriate stakeholders.


Qualifications

  • 5+ years overall experience in the IT or IT consulting field
  • 1+ year of experience managing IT projects as Agile Project Manager in government space
  • Experience directly interfacing with clients, with a proven track record of managing client expectations and maintaining relationships
  • Understanding of Software SDLC including Waterfall, Agile, and mixed methodologies
  • Experience with Federal IT development activities preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Project and/or Azure DevOps (preferred)
  • Experience prioritizing work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong writing skills and/or technical editing skills

Additional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in IT or Business related field
  • Experience managing projects through all phases of the SDLC
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) (preferred)
  • Certified Scrum-Master (CSM) (preferred)

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree B.S. in Computer Science or Information Management, or related field

Clearance:

  • The ability to obtain a government moderate background security clearance

Location:

  • Remote, USA

Pay Range:

  • The pay for this position ranges from $95,500 to $110,000
  • The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
  • Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as bonuses.
