Job Details

Our 10-week paid internship program has been developed to provide students with hands-on experience to learn more about the Healthcare industry and the impact to human and animal health. This internship program will provide you with professional development, networking and volunteer opportunities. You will learn about the Guiding Principles of our culture but most importantly, have the opportunity to become a key contributor in the future talent pipeline of Cencora.

The primary duties and responsibilities of the intern will be in support of the Global Pharma Services (GPS) business unit, with emphasis on sales and marketing strategy to enhance expand business.

The sales intern will provide the opportunity to work alongside a team of marketing, account executives and/or sales leaders that may include developing a strategy related to expanding ongoing business, discovering new customers and contacts, qualifying marketing leads, building company backgrounders, conducting market research on new targets e.g., products and companies or other needs to support business growth across BPS.

This team is focused on GPS clients (primarily pharmaceutical companies) and the value of AmerisourceBergen's full portfolio of commercialization services including market access, strategic global sourcing, patient support, consulting, and innovative field solutions.

This intern will report to a marketing or sales leader, who will act as a coach and mentor providing guidance regarding professional development.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Working alongside sales and/or marketing leaders to understand the current need and gaps.
  • Assist in developing client and market insights to fuel client strategy, Quarterly Business reviews, and other sales needs (pitches and presentations)
  • Identifies and pitches opportunities for solutions based on learned customer needs and targets using LinkedIn and other sources of identification
  • Researching industry trends and sharing with sales leadership and teams
  • Evolve marketing qualified leads to sales qualified through outreach, understanding of customer needs then passing to sales teams
  • Other research, strategy and sales support activities depending on intern background and interest

Currently enrolled in undergraduate school with an upcoming completion of a bachelor's degree.

Must not require sponsorship to work in the US, now or in the future.

  • Completed at least one semester of study at an accredited college or university
  • Relevant completed coursework including marketing, public relations, communications, business, or clinical studies (pharmacy, pre-medical nursing or other science-oriented degree) or health administration
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Good project management skills, strong interpersonal, teamwork, organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong attention to detail, solution-oriented problem solver
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Willingness to learn, research and bring some great fresh ideas to the table
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team setting
