THE POSITION The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources has an exciting opportunity for a professional Senior Civil Engineer (Hydraulic). In this role, you will perform a variety of civil engineering duties associated with the design, construction, rehabilitation, maintenance and inspection of dams and other civil engineering related projects for the Bureau of Forestry and Bureau of State Parks. DESCRIPTION OF WORK The employee is responsible for a range of civil engineering tasks that involve the design, construction, rehabilitation, maintenance, and inspection of dams, as well as other projects related to civil engineering, specifically for the Bureau of Forestry and the Bureau of State Parks. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Travel and overnight travel required as needed to visit projects located in the State Parks and the State Forest Districts Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, 5 days in office and 5 days teleworking from home in a 2-week work cycle. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Six years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty; and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; and an associate's degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline; or Two years of professional civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline; Special Requirements: This position requires the possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists. This position requires possession of a valid driver's license which is not under suspension. Other Requirements: PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
