POSITION SUMMARY:

Support Balchem's Internal Audit (IA) Department with activities and operations in accordance with its 2024 Internal Audit Plan. This position will be working on a hybrid schedule and has the opportunity to work out of our Montvale, NJ or Middletown, NY office. Ideal candidate would be able to start Fall/Winter 2024.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Compliance and Initiatives:



  • Assist in preparation of financial statement risk assessment/ compliance plan
  • Test assigned entity-level controls and process-level controls for corporate and plant locations based on prescribed audit procedures.
  • Document testing results in accordance with standard workpaper methodology.
  • Address review comments provided by Senior Auditor.
  • Assist in tracking and monitoring of identified deficiencies and enhancement opportunities.
  • Assist in SOX process narrative review and maintenance of SOX documentation site.
  • Participation in process documentation and SOX walkthroughs/ testing for recently acquired entity.
  • Liaising with the company's external auditors, RSM


Plant Audits:



  • Assist in planning and reporting for plant audits.
  • Test assigned areas for plant audits based on prescribed audit procedures.
  • Document testing results in accordance with standard workpaper methodology.
  • Address review comments provided by Senior Auditor.


Administration:



  • Assist in planning, budgeting, status reporting, and other administrative activities.


REQUIREMENTS:

Accounting Major in an accredited 4+ year institution. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

The expected salary for this position is $20.00 - $25.00 an hour.
