Laboratory Technician

BS in Biology or related field

This position is in the Department of Genetics in Katie Billmyre's lab. This position will help establish a research program focused on meiotic chromosome biology with a focus on chromosome-specific behaviors in Drosophila (fruit flies). This will include the use of molecular genetics, microscopy, image analysis, and bioinformatic approaches to understand how unique chromosome features influence meiotic outcomes and to investigate the structure and function of meiotic proteins. The employee will be working closely with the principle investigator in a small laboratory environment with growth potential. This is an excellent position for a recent graduate interested in acquiring additional experience in order to apply for graduate school.
