Minimal Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Business, Communication, Education, Engineering, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales, business development, or a similar role, preferably within corporate training, workforce development, or continuing education sectors.



Preferred qualifications:
Preference will be given to individuals who possess:

  • Evidence of expertise in preparing and presenting compelling proposals, contracts, and pricing structures to a range of clients, showcasing customized workforce solutions that meet specific business needs.
  • Evidence of strong relationship-building skills with key business leaders, HR managers, and decision-makers within the local community, including the ability to maintain long-term partnerships and foster repeat business.
  • Evidence of experience in conducting client needs assessments to identify workforce challenges and develop customized training and development solutions.
  • Evidence of the ability to serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring exceptional service and client satisfaction throughout the engagement.
  • Evidence of familiarity with CRM systems and other sales tracking tools to effectively manage client relationships, sales activities, and generate accurate reports.
  • Evidence of strong written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts and close deals effectively.
  • Evidence of the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, think creatively, and adapt to evolving client needs and market trends.



Work Hours
Normally scheduled Monday through Friday; however, may be required to work other shifts to include evenings and/or weekends. Schedule subject to change based upon department needs.


Compensation
The annual salary is $54,867-$58,159. A competitive benefit package is included.

Class Summary
This is the second level in the Program Development series. Incumbents are responsible for the development and delivery of on-and off-campus credit and noncredit courses, seminars, and workshops to meet the workforce development needs of students, employers and community agencies. Major duties and responsibilities include: designing and/or arranging for the development and delivery of credit and noncredit courses; recruiting, recommending and hiring part-time faculty to conduct assigned educational and training programs in accordance with established college procedures; supervising support staff; Identifying potential funding sources and participating in the development of marketing materials, schedules and proposals; conducting surveys in assigned areas to determine the educational and training needs; assisting with the evaluation of training programs, materials, and other educational resources.

Typical Essential Duties

  • Designs and/or coordinates the development of systems/programs; work may involve conducting surveys and interviews in assigned areas to determine educational and training needs, establishing databases or invoicing & tracking mechanisms, and ensuring that programs and services are designed in accordance with client needs and applicable policies and guidelines.
  • Develops and implements effective programs in assigned areas, follows processes and procedures for client and services agreements, and working with other MCC departments.
  • Performs or conducts outreach and/or research pertaining to agencies, employers, and community partners to support MCC's workforce program.
  • Coordinates schedules and/or arranges for appropriate facilities for courses, seminars, and workshops both on and off campus as needed.
  • Coordinates the recruiting, recommendations, and hiring of part-time trainers to conduct assigned educational and training programs in accordance with established College procedures; and supervises support staff to ensure work is performed in compliance with applicable laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinates with faculty, trainers, business & industry, students, the marketing department, and other internal/external staff, departments, and/or agencies to communicate pertinent information; provide recommendations; identify potential funding sources; participate in the development of marketing materials, schedules, and proposals; and/or facilitate related departmental operations.
  • Assists with evaluating training programs, materials, and other educational resources as needed; work may involve researching and analyzing data on workforce trends and other information, and making or implementing recommendations based on findings.
  • Prepares and maintains records, reports, and other documentation, to ensure timely and accurate documentation, present findings, and comply with applicable laws, policies, and procedures.

Physical Requirements
Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing are required only occasionally.
