Job Description

Torch is looking for a welder/technician to provide mechanical support in the fabrication and integration of various weldments and assemblies in support of several DoD systems. Applicant should be able to build the corresponding fixtures and jig assemblies to produce weldments, both steel and aluminum, as well as setup and usage of machines for a safe and fully functional shop environment. Applicant should be able to participate and provide input during peer reviews of designs as well as support fabrication readiness reviews. Applicant could also be expected to participate in actual design optimization of components in support of overall program.

Responsibilities:



  • Experience in a low-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work with diverse team of engineers and manufacturing teammates in a dynamic workplace.
  • Develop and produce hardware solutions for a wide range of applications.
  • Must be capable of reading engineering drawings and following both written and verbal instructions.
  • Must be self-motivated and can work independently with limited or no assistance.

Job Requirements

  • Associate Degree, or 2 years of formal technical training, and a minimum of 5 years of related experience; or requires an equivalent combination of related training and experience.
  • Proficient with Mig Welding. Will need to certify to D1.1.
  • Ability to work with fast-paced engineering teams and participation in design reviews.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical instructions.
  • Able to work 1st shift 4-10's with work hours ranging from 6:00am-4:30pm.
  • Must be able to work overtime as required.
  • Must be familiar with working within AS9100 quality processes.
  • Must follow and comply with all safety rules and guidelines.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Mustbe aU.S. Citizen
  • Ability to obtain/maintaina DoD Secret Security clearance.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience operating and overhead crane and forklift.
  • Background working with military systems and mechanical integration onto platforms is desired.
  • Ability to interpret and apply engineering drawings is desired



Workplace safety is a priority at Torch. Candidates must receive and present an OSHA 10-Hour Training Course for General Industry certification (either a card from the Department of Labor or certificate of completion from an authorized trainer) within the first 90 days of employment. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed training prior to employment. Training may be completed online.
