Position Summary

This role is responsible for the procurement of materials, supplies, equipment, and services consistent with the quality, quantity, and cost requirements for Apogee Corporate. These functions include; Placing purchase orders, confirming order acknowledgments, supplier onboarding within our S2P program, identifying and expediting backorders with our vendor community, sourcing indirect spend, and the ability to communicate throughout multiple organizational levels. This position will develop strong cross functional working relationships while executing value driven projects and implementing best practices.

This role will report to the Procurement Manager COE and will manage buying for corporate services departments across Apogee. The Commodity Specialist will also support the central category teams with sourcing activities. This position is hybrid, 70% on-site at the Headquarters office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with key stakeholders to support procurement requirements and facilitate buying activity.
  • Responsible for supplier enablement in our S2P program including supplier onboarding, part creation, training, and supplier performance review.
  • Supporting category team and indirect sourcing projects driving value to the organization through productivity savings and working capital.
  • Continuous process improvement within corporate services including but not limited to sourcing, contracting, and transactional buying.
  • Identifies and resolves problems related to purchase orders, invoicing, and credits.
  • Accountable for acknowledging daily purchase order confirmations from our vendor partners.
  • Travel 15-20% as needed.

Education and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor degree
  • 8 years of experiences in procurement or comparable integrated supply chain roles
  • Must have strong organizational and data-entry skills with the ability to multi-task and meet on-going deadlines
  • The ability to communicate effectively in a written and verbal manner to individuals and groups throughout all organizational levels
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) with an understanding of ERP/MRP system processes- Coupa experience a plus
  • Service oriented, with a sense of persistence and tolerance, while working with our outside vendor partners and internal work groups
  • CPM and/or APICS certification a plus
  • Demonstrated knowledge and extensive experience developing and executing buying/category strategies, supplier negotiations and supplier management

Additional Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years Sourcing & Category Management experience
  • Excellent teaming abilities
  • Demonstrated strategic planning and execution
  • Demonstrated background of building collaborative relationships
  • Strong data analytics and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with positive persuasive attitude

Pay Range

  • $70,000 - $85,000
