Job Summary

Collaborates with the Executive Assistant to the Board Clerk to lead all aspects of the Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) Office of Board Governances clerical and accounting functions.

Develops and implements systems to help streamline the Office of Board Governance programs and functions. Works on office projects, assists customers by providing exceptional customer service, and provides organization within the office.

Salary Range: $54,089 - 72,434

Other Information

Qualifications

  • A bachelors degree from an accredited college or university; equivalent combinations of training, education and experience will be considered.
  • One to three years of previous experience in a high-volume, customer-focused environment is required.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite including SharePoint, and Google applications is essential.
  • Previous public sector experience is desired.
Responsibilities

  • Serves as the main contact for the office and performs support functions at all levels.
  • Assists the Office of Board Governance by providing exceptional customer service through positive communication and fostering a welcoming environment.
  • Proactively assists with the development, implementation, and maintenance of a filing system to streamline electronic and hard copy files.
  • Assists with payroll, budget, requisitions, inventory, and other office maintenance duties.
  • Maintains and serves as a point of contact for department issues, including accounting issues.
  • Processes purchase requisitions, invoices, checks, account statements, reports, and other records.
  • Communicates frequently and effectively with peers and others through verbal and written means; Answers phones, provides information, assists with the mail, and develops correspondence, as necessary.
  • Maintains policies and procedures of the department.
  • Plans and completes projects and activities that positively impact MPS.
  • Actively supports the MPS Strategic Plan.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
