Position Scope and Charter We are seeking Helicopter Maintenance Supervisors for our Advanced Helicopter Training System (AHTS) contract at NAS Whiting Field, Milton, FL. The successful candidates will be responsible for technical, professional and administrative duties to ensure contract compliance and reporting as defined in Naval Aviation Maintenance Program Standard Operating Procedures, Federal Aviation Regulations, Original Equipment Manufacturer manuals, applicable ISO, and Navy Instructions. Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of NALCOMIS/OOMA aircraft maintenance software, ALSS, engine and support equipment configuration management, data base management, reports, and processes.
- Demonstrate the necessary leadership and management skills to lead the assigned maintenance workforce, which may include scheduled/unscheduled maintenance work centers, flightline, aviation life support systems, ground support equipment and off site aircraft repair/recovery, in complying with the government contract (PWS), NAMP program, company, maintenance instructions, and company policies and procedures to ensure safe and expeditious support of the Navy's Flight Training Program.
- Responsible to the Maintenance Manager in performing those duties assigned.
- Supervise, plan, coordinate and direct the activities of the assigned maintenance team in the maintenance and repair of TH57 and/or TH-73 aircraft and support of flight training operations.
- Ensure compliance with the government contract (PWS), NAMP program, company, maintenance instructions, and company policies and procedures to ensure safe and expeditious support of the Navy's Flight Training Program.
- Perform analysis and work load planning to ensure customer service and company goals are met. These include, but are not limited to estimating/tracking personnel requirements for a multi-shift operation as well as scheduling and coordinating overtime requirements.
- Evaluate existing methods, systems and potential improvements for compliance with maintenance requirements and to ensure cost effectiveness, productivity and personnel safety.
- Submit to the Maintenance Manager any recommendations for manpower, materials, facilities and capital equipment.
- Ensure Maintenance/Work Instructions are established and issued to define and/or clarify maintenance procedures specified in government directives or not outlined in available technical data. Recommend update and corrections as needed.
- Team with the Quality Manager to analyze maintenance data to identify trends and deficiencies.
- Ensure data accuracy of the daily work center reports, due-in-from maintenance reports and any other reports as required in support of aircraft maintenance and periodic required reports.
- Advise the Maintenance Control Supervisor of the status of work in progress and coordinate work center activities as required to accomplish tasks.
- Must be trained in corrosion control methods and procedures.
- May be designated as the Company's Weight and Balance Officer if qualified.
- Monitor and assist the line move crew when operating inside the hangar.
- May be required to handle hazardous materials in performance of assigned duties.
- Must be thoroughly familiar with and ensure enforcement of established General and Industrial Safety Rules and Regulations as applicable to the contract, facilities and job assignment.
- Assist with the interview, selection and training of new employees.
- Instruct assigned employees on proper methods and procedures as required.
- Counsel and/or discipline employees verbally or in writing as needed to enforce Company policies, directives and CBA requirements following progressive disciplinary procedures.
- Investigate and resolve employee's complaints. Be thoroughly familiar with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA); may resolve Step 1 grievances in accordance with the CBA.
- Must have an extensive working knowledge of COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series, OPNAV 3750 series, applicable ISO, Federal Aviation Regulations, and Navy Instructions.
- Must be able to utilize card files and common office equipment.
- Must be able to effectively interface with Government Representatives. Must be customer oriented.
- Be thoroughly familiar with all requirements contained in the government contract, government instructions, manuals and procedures.
- Must be thoroughly familiar with and ensure enforcement of Company policies and procedures.
- Adhere to and enforce all Company and Government regulations to ensure personnel safety and the security and preservation of Government and Company-owned equipment.
- Ensure compliance with required Quality Control policies and inspections.
- Responsible for adherence to and enforcement of the Tool Control Program.
- Responsible for adherence to and enforcement of the FOD Prevention Program.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the work center.
- Ensure that work is properly documented in government and company electronic and/or manual Information Systems
- Assist in ensuring the safety, security, inventory and preservation of Government owned and Company owned equipment.
- Perform all other position related duties as well as other projects and initiatives as assigned.
- Maintains the highest ethical, personal and professional standards
Position Scope and Charter
- Must have a minimum of six (6) years documented experience in aviation maintenance, three (3) years of which must have been in a supervisory or management position. Rotary wing aviation maintenance preferred.
- FAA Airframes and Powerplants License (A&P) preferred
- Graduate of U.S. Navy Maintenance OMA Work Center Supervisor Course (OOMA C-555-0045 or equivalent) (preferred)
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
- Must meet any other qualification standards imposed by the government contract not covered by this agreement.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint to generate, compile, analyze and evaluate facts and data using statistical and research methodologies
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have ability to develop professional relationships with management, peers, vendors, subcontractors, and customers.
- Must be able to work weekends, other shifts, and unpaid overtime as required.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and Company proprietary data.
- Must adhere to Company policies/procedures and management instruction.
- Limited travel required.
Physical Requirements
- Primarily office environment. Must have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
- At times, must be able to work in aircraft hangar environment and board / exit aircraft. At times, must be able to climb, bend, kneel, crouch, balance, and stoop. Must be able to walk particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another. Must be able to work primarily with fingers such as typing. Must be able to work at heights, subject to noise, subject to a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, work on scaffolding, exposure to heat/cold.
- Must be able to communicate effectively.
