Purpose of Position	Responsible for the administration of various network applications, switches, routers, access points, security cameras, telephones, accounts and other functionality related to infrastructure systems. Responsible for interfacing with cabling vendors for testing, installation, and maintenance of NKU's cabling infrastructure. Assists with support for events outside of normal business hours.
Primary Responsibilities	Work with lead staff to evaluate, install and maintain network applications, layer 2 switch administration, telephony, Wi-Fi devices, and security devices. Structured Cabling installation and maintenance for construction projects Systems Administration (Patches, Upgrades, installations, hardware upgrades ...) Network troubleshooting, problem resolution and documentation of resolution
Qualifications	Bachelor's degree and 1 year of related experience. Knowledge of network protocols and standards such as DNS, DHCP, Ethernet, EIA/ TIA 568. Clear and effective communication in person and in writing. Ability to read and create network diagrams and building floorplans. Some after hours event support required
Minimum Education	Acceptable Equivalency
Preferred Education	Bachelor's Degree
Minimum Experience	1 year
Salary	$46,000 Minimum Annually
Pay Grade	S71
