Summary The Quality Assurance (QA) Inspector ensures that products manufactured by vendor partners meet industry standards and the standards of Bob's Discount Furniture's Compliance Manual. Their goal is to assure that products can withstand regular use, are packaged and protected to withstand handling and transportation and that products work as intended as well as identify concerns outlined by QA management. Pay: $20.00 - $24.00/hour (Based on experience) Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Complete inspections of samples and current merchandise using app-based system providing detailed descriptions of packaging, workmanship and compliance.
- Serve as front line inspector by monitoring returning merchandise to determine root cause of defects (handling, manufacture, and packaging).
- Recognize problems or issues in a timely manner with equipment, materials, process or personnel and report information to QA Group.
- Assist in the receiving, review and shipments of sample and production merchandise.
- Understanding business process management and business requirements of Quality Control, Parts and Merchandising to enhance all business functions including Customer Service, Delivery and all aspects of Distribution.
- Maintains and improves product quality by completing product, company, system, compliance, and surveillance audits; investigating customer complaints; collaborating with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs, and manufacturing and training methods.
- Re-pack and protect merchandise following reviews and inspections.
- Work strategically with various departments to identify opportunities for improvements for merchandise and handling practices.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively and utilize communication tools appropriately.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively manage one's own time especially with respect to project deadlines.
- Capable of identifying root cause and managing towards an improved process.
- Basic understanding of computer software such as but not limited to Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Knowledge of operating warehouse equipment such as forklift, Picker Lift and Power Pallet Jack.
- Ability to redirect attention and resources to high level issues quickly and efficiently to provide feedback in a timely manner.
