Job Description

The AEC intern program is designed to provide firsthand working knowledge of engineering activities at AEC. The candidate will develop valuable problem solving skills while assisting with the support of existing programs as well as the development of new products and processes.

This internship position is being offered for the summer of 2025 - to begin in May '25 and end in August '25, with flexibility based on semester start/end dates.

Job Responsibilities



  • Put Safety first at all times, never compromise on safety for the obtainment of other objectives. Responsible for health and safety of themselves and coworkers.


A task list of assignments will be provided to the engineering student and he/she will receive support from the AEC quality staff to accomplish them. The student may be given the responsibility to find solutions to specific quality activities in support of current programs quality improvements. Some of the activities and responsibilities may include:



  • Develop quality data collection system.
  • RCCA to reduce Customer Complaints.
  • RCCA to improve FPY.
  • RCCA to reduce scrap.

Qualifications/Characteristics

A candidate for Quality Intern is expected to have completed at least two years (three years preferred) toward a BS in Engineering with a GPA of 3.0 (3.5 preferred) or more (preferred Computer Systems, Statistics or equivalent), and be able to demonstrate competence in one or more of the following areas:



  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft software (Advanced Excel/Macros, Visual Basic).
  • Capability to understand and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Database oriented.
  • Knowledge of Probability and Statistics.
  • Measurement equipment knowledge is a plus (calipers, micrometers, height gages, etc.)

Working Conditions

Indoor production environment, adequate lighting and comfortable temperatures. Occasional exposure to moderate noise and machinery with mechanical moving parts.

Physical requirements

Occasionally positions self to move an office item >10 lbs.

Frequently move about the production floor and office area to attend meetings or trainings

Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 75% of the time

Frequently operates a computer, enters data into systems, verifies information, etc.
