Stellar Solutions is seeking a Sr. Configurable Space System Software Architect to support the design and construction of a variety of challenging, novel fascets for a cutting edge space system. Many of these projects require solving the client's challenges in new or different ways that involve the application of theoretical and practical engineering to achieve success.



Role/Responsibilities/Qualifications

As a Sr. Configurable Space System Software Architect you are a candidate who can understand and then dive into programming at different levels. The program you will be solutioning for is a fully distributed and unique hybrid multi-processor system on a multi-port bus. The program's unique method software enables the recognition of "connection" of new hardware, and a raw database structure shared amongst multiple distrbuted processors. Integrating this connection software with a fully validated set of mission proven GNC Flight software, maintaing a live digital twin and running a full scale bench level prototype are the evolving technical leadership challenges with this senior position.

Join the program team to set-up the hardware in the loop environment, review the existing architecture, think through potentialy missed challenges, and integrate various pieces of code. The successful applicant will have a problem solving mentality, excellent theoretical knowledge of engineering principles and desire to be on the cutting edge of space technology.

Required Skills

    Minimum ten (10) years of relevant technical experience in the field of software architecture or related discipline
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced,multi-disciplinary, collaborative team environment balancing often widely different project tasks and types
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Fundamental engineering skills including software architecture and aerospace systems are necessary for this position
  • Engineering managment experience, as this will be our lead position for this program at this site

Required Education:

  • Masters in Systems or Software Engineering or related discipline (PhD desired)

Security Clearance & Other Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to obtain a U.S. Top Secret Clearance and also to access US only data systems
  • Ability to travel to temporary assignments outside of the greater Washington DC Metropolitan area. Travel <10%
  • Role is 100% onsite at customer location in Los Alamitos, CA

The typical pay range for this position is USD $185,000 - $245,000 per year, total package. Individual pay is determined by many factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus, and a full benefits package including a significant profit-sharing retirement savings plan.
