Purpose of the Role:
The Senior Manager of Project Controls at Worley plays a pivotal role in ensuring the alignment of project goals with Worley's broader organizational objectives and commitment to sustainable change. This role provides comprehensive project controls services that enable effective management, monitoring, and reporting on cost and schedule for multiple concurrent projects. The Senior Manager, Project Controls, operates both as a hands-on project lead and as a strategic manager for the project controls group, contributing directly to Worley's mission of delivering sustainable solutions and meeting financial and performance targets.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Project Controls Leadership: Provide expert guidance on planning, scheduling, and cost management practices to project teams, ensuring tools, metrics, and work breakdown structures support project goals and are aligned with sustainability and organizational objectives.
  • Performance Data Collection & Analysis: Oversee the collection of critical performance data, including installed quantities, labor hours, and productivity metrics for direct hires and subcontractors. Conduct earned value, productivity, and risk analyses to inform decision-making and project optimization.
  • Change Management: Identify, document, and track all changes or potential changes to project scope, ensuring visibility for both internal stakeholders and clients. Coordinate with project management to estimate cost changes and assess schedule impacts.
  • Integration & Reporting: Integrate cost and schedule data with Worley's accounting and management information systems, enabling effective reporting on project performance and alignment with company financial goals. Ensure seamless communication between project controls and company leadership.
  • Process Development & Improvement: Participate in developing and refining systems, processes, and tools for project controls, enhancing their effectiveness in sustainable project delivery. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, providing support and expertise to others across the organization.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Prepare and present comprehensive project proposals and reports to senior management. Leverage strong communication skills to influence outcomes and foster cooperative team efforts toward project goals.


Qualifications / Skill Set:



  • Educational Background: A university degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, project management, or business, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience: At least fifteen years of experience in project controls, project management, or a related technical field, with supervisory experience. Demonstrated success in managing large-scale projects with a focus on cost control and scheduling.
  • Technical Expertise: Advanced understanding of project control systems, processes, and tools, with the ability to troubleshoot and lead the development of new methodologies that align with Worley's sustainability goals.
  • Leadership & Decision-Making: Ability to develop tactical plans and guide organizational goals with a strategic mindset. Skilled in implementing project change initiatives, influencing project outcomes, and collaborating across functional areas.
  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Effective communicator with a participative management style. Capable of delivering complex proposals and influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficient in earned value management, productivity tracking, and risk analysis. Ability to interpret and synthesize data to make informed recommendations and project optimizations.
