Job Description

Torch Technologies is seeking a Systems Engineer to join a team to provide advisory and assistance services in support of a DOD ACAT I program. A successful candidate will have a history of experience in performing systems engineering responsibilities. The candidate will be a central touchpoint for several different integrated product teams responsible for ensuring compliance with systems engineering principles.

The U.S. Air Force is developing a new Long-Range Stand-Off (LRSO) nuclear missile. The service plans to field the LRSO by 2030 to replace the current, General Dynamics (now Raytheon) AGM-129A Advanced Cruise Missile (ACM) that originally entered service in 1991. In May 2021, the Air Force awarded an Engineering and Manufacturing Design (EMD) contract to Raytheon Missiles and Defense, Tucson, Arizona. The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) Nuclear Weapons Acquisition Division (AFNWC/NDB), which is resident at Eglin AFB, Florida, is the System Program Office (SPO) responsible for the acquisition.

Responsibilities:

This position requires a highly motivated individual with experience to include the below duties:




  • Advise and assist in performing Systems Engineering for the design, development, manufacturing, operation, maintenance, and eventual disposal of a weapon to be integrated on an aircraft.



  • Plan, monitor, and support decision analysis, requirements management, and risk management by following the Air Force Systems Engineering Assessment Model



  • Coordinate tasks with multiple Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) from a variety of engineering fields (software, mechanical, and electrical) and across numerous functions from program management, logistics, and finance.



  • Represent the systems engineering IPT at design reviews, technical interchange meetings, planning, meetings, and program management reviews.



  • Ensure adequate planning, readiness, and closeout of system engineering technical reviews.



  • Evaluate system development and performance through conduct of system technical reviews.



  • Evaluate trade studies and advise the program leadership about risks and impacts to supportability, cost, and schedule.



  • Write, coordinate, and maintain program documentation.



  • Prepare reports and presentations and give technical presentations for program leadership.



  • Utilize IBM Rational DOORS to verify implementation of requirements and appropriate flow through the system



  • Work to support the development of the program's Model Based Systems Engineering



Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:




  • Current DOD Secret Clearance (or US Gov equivalent), must be TS eligible;Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Clearance.



  • Possessat least 10years of experience.



  • Master's degree in a relevant engineering field (Aerospace, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, Systems, etc.), additional years of experience and a Bachelor of Science in a relevant engineering field may be substituted in lieu of a master'sdegree.



  • U.S. Citizenship required





Preferred Qualifications:




  • Experience in a program office is desired.



  • Air Force DAU Engineering and Technical Management (or similar) is desired.
