The Field Service Manager manages profit and loss of regional service organization including forecasting, budgeting, and capital requests. This role is responsible for developing, staffing, training, and implementing the technical and operational support to complete all aspects of field projects necessary to meet fulfill contract requirements and assure complete customer satisfaction. This role is responsible for the supporting the development of customer relationships and sales opportunities within the given service region
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Manage profit/loss for assigned region to established goals
- o Prepare annual budgets
- o Manage cost center and project expenses
- o Provide annual, quarterly, and monthly forecasts
- o Perform invoicing requests and support cash collections
- Identify, prepare justifications, and administer capital projects
- Hire and train staff; develop and assess training requirements
- Manage performance of assigned hourly and salaried resources including labor and expense approval, goal setting, performance reviews, talent development, and merit process.
- Handle all aspects of service project execution including but not limited to subcontractor administration, material procurement, equipment and manpower scheduling; contract administration/management, customer communications, and organizational KPIs. Implement and execute quality, safety, customer satisfaction, and training programs
- Provide technical support for customers and field crews.
- Implement necessary preventative maintenance, inspection, and calibration programs for fleet, oil processing, test, and safety equipment to assure DOT, OSHA, and quality program compliance.
- Provide project site supervision when required.
- Review, analyze field test data and conduct final review, approval of all final project reports before delivering to the customer
- Support sales organization with development of customer relationships and new market opportunities with various clientele within the given service region.
- Support sales and quoting process including scope development, job walks, cost estimates, and inputs for commercial contract review
- Assist in providing quotes and sales/technical presentations to customers for various services.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES |
- Knowledge of electric substation systems, especially power transformers.
- Knowledge of financial concepts, including inventories/work in process, cash flow, P/L, productivity, and capital utilization.
- Familiarity with marketing concepts and sales techniques.
- Familiarity with DOT and OSHA regulations
- Approximately 30% travel

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE |
Required Education / Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a Bachelor's degree combined with a demonstrated ability to apply and communicate technical concepts
Preferred Education / Experience
- Experience in utility or industrial electrical service
