Posting Summary	Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Lab Specialist for Waksman Institute of Microbiology. The Maliga lab is seeking a part time lab associate to work with RNA , chloroplast genomes and to train other lab personnel in bioinformatic procedures. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Measures small RNA abundance relative to chloroplast ribosomal RNA. Measures small RNA processing efficiency using quantitative RT-PCR. Assembles of chloroplast genomes from short DNA reads. Trains lab personnel in bioinformatic procedures.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience	Bachelor's degree in a scientific/technical discipline or related. Plus two years of relevant experience with RNA, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant laboratory technician or research study experience carrying out research protocols and tests, or other technical work may be substituted for the degree.
