About the Role

We are looking for a results-driven Transit Account Executive to lead sales efforts for telematics, EV hardware, and software solutions targeted at bus fleets and transit agencies. In this role, you will be responsible for building long-term relationships with fleet customers, managing strategic business development efforts, and driving revenue growth. You will engage with transit operators, fleet managers, and OEM partners to promote and sell our solutions that enhance efficiency and sustainability.

This position requires at least 20% travel to customer sites for site walks, fleet assessments, and meetings.


Key Responsibilities

  • Sales & Business Development


    • Identify, engage, and manage relationships with large fleet and transit customers.
    • Develop strategic sales plans to drive adoption of EV charging infrastructure, telematics, and fleet management solutions.
    • Work closely with OEM partners to develop joint go-to-market strategies.


  • Customer Engagement & Relationship Management


    • Build long-term partnerships with fleet customers by understanding their needs and providing consultative solutions.
    • Coordinate software demos, training, and ongoing customer support.
    • Conduct site evaluations and fleet deployment assessments.
    • Assist in coordinating customer-specific logistics for product deployment.


  • Industry Leadership & Event Participation


    • Represent the company at conferences, expositions, and webinars to showcase solutions and network with industry stakeholders.
    • Support research efforts with the marketing team to refine customer experiences and improve product-market fit.


  • Proposal Management & Technical Expertise


    • Lead and coordinate responses to RFPs (Request for Proposals) from transit agencies and fleet operators.
    • Continuously evaluate product requirements and value propositions to optimize offerings for customers.



Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in a consultative sales or business development role, preferably in fleet management, EV charging, telematics, or transportation technology.
  • Proven ability to meet and exceed sales quotas in a competitive market.
  • Experience working with public transit agencies, municipalities, and fleet operators.
  • Strong understanding of EV adoption, fleet electrification, and charging infrastructure.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to craft and shape deals that drive long-term growth.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Willingness to travel at least 30% of the time for customer site visits, assessments, and events.

Location

US Remote (Northern CA/PNW & Southern CA & Mountain)

ChargePoint is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The targeted US salary range for roles at this operating level is $58,500 to $165,000. This range represents base salary and does not reflect equity, benefits or variable pay where applicable. Actual base salaries are based on several factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications and specific work location.
