The Opportunity- Nursing Coop: Ellison 9- Cardiac Intensive Care Unit

The start date for this position is Monday December 30, 2024 and the end date is Friday, June 27, 2025. This nursing cooperative with MGH is exclusive to Northeastern University Nursing School Program students.

Why This Role Is Important?

Ellison 9 is a sixteen-bed cardiac intensive care unit. Patients on the unit are primarily critically ill cardiac patients. Other adult medical critically ill patients may be admitted to this unit. Under the direction of a registered nurse (RN), the Patient Care Associate (PCA) or Critical Care Technician (CCT) assists the multi-disciplinary health care team in clinical support functions to promote a safe, compassionate patient care environment. Ellison 9 is seeking a full time PCA, with Day and Night shift availability, and to provide rotating weekend and holiday coverage. Only full-time applicants will be considered for this new opportunity.

What are we looking for?

• PCA assists patients with daily living needs, monitoring & reading vital signs, drawing blood, and obtaining EKGs.
• Responds to patient requests in a timely manner, safeguarding patient confidentiality, monitoring patient safety, and always communicating in a respectful manner.

• HS Diploma required.
• Current CPR certification.
• Current enrollment in Northeastern University Nursing School Program.
• Completion of the MGH PCA Skills checklist with at least one clinical rotation completed.
