What you'll be doing...

As Verizon continues to drive innovations within Transportation, we are looking for a Product and Technology Leader to join our Product Innovation team. The candidate will lead a small team of senior engineers and define the vision for new products and platform opportunities that utilize emerging technologies within the transportation sector along with Verizon's 5G network capabilities. We are looking for an experienced cross-functional technical leader with extensive product innovation and development experience with an ability to quickly hone in on new products that fit Verizon's strategy. The candidate will collaborate closely with product managers within the Business Units to move from concept into commercialization.

Responsibilities
  • Driving long-term technology strategy and product opportunities within the automotive / transportation sector.

  • Tackling the challenges of tomorrow's transportation industry using 5G technologies and edge computing

  • Collaborating with business units to demonstrate the value proposition and provide input into business case development.

  • Driving the development of product prototypes to demonstrate value to customers.

  • Identifying technology partners to develop mission-critical applications for the transportation section utilizing Verizon's edge computing and 5G networks.

  • Leading fast-paced, applied research technical teams, establishing requirements, excellent written documentation, and ability to deliver clear verbal communications.

  • Developing and delivering multi-year product strategies and collaborating with sales and account teams to drive innovative solutions meeting customer needs.

What we're looking for... You'll need to have:
  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

  • Experience in the transportation vertical, including expertise in emerging safety technologies like CV2x, vehicle automation, non-LOS drone operations and vehicle safety functionality.

  • Experience with deployment of services in cloud-based applications, virtualization, cloud operational costs, scalability of designs, and HA.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:
  • Subject Matter Expertise experience in talking to customers.

  • Experience across automotive categories, including ADAS, OBUs, ECUs, TCUs, connectivity, road safety operations, ITS, TOCs, Drones, Freight(road and rail), SAE standards, and Tolling. Strong understanding of automotive OEMs, DOTs, and public sector agencies.

  • Experience in new expansion opportunities in Software-defined vehicles, automation navigation, and operation platforms.

  • Experience in Product Management within the transportation vertical.

  • Understanding of onboard units, and in-vehicle client software and hardware.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $143,000.00 and $265,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
