Description of primary duties and responsibilities: |
Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit:
The Student Success Learning Center provides student-centered academic support services and resources that promote higher learning, enhance student excellence, and prepare students for 21st century careers. The goals of the Learning Center are to offer personalized and collaborative approaches to leverage student strengths; encourage student development through strong programs of academic support; and to work with other academic units to ensure that students develop the fundamental skills and knowledge necessary for success in all academic majors. Services include the Academic Support Lab, Writing & Communication Lab, Supplemental Instruction, Bronco
STAR, Academic Success Workshop, Student Success Coaching, Peer Coaching, and an Open Lab.

Description of Work Continued: |
Duties and Responsibilities:
Research and Evaluation
identify, in collaboration with faculty and staff, students whose level of core skills will likelyimpede their academic progress at Fayetteville State University.assess the effectiveness of programs and services and initiate changes based on assessmentfindings.
Leadership and academic support
supervise the operation of the Writing & Communication Center. Supervise the Foreign Language tutors provide programs and services that will help students enhance their core student learning Design and implement effective and innovative communications for the Writing and Communication Center including original publications, articles, press releases, and Social Media content. Other duties as assign
University Collaboration
implement effective core student learning outcome instruction in the University College. Teach one section each semester of the class for which support is provided.
Professional Development
Attend meetings, conferences, and workshops to increase knowledge of retention evidence-based strategies and technology to support student success.
Customer Care
Serve students through various platforms and methods to meet their needs Respond to inquiries from students with care and quality services via phone, email and in person. |
Minimum Education And Experience Requirements: |
Master's degree required in the discipline of the relevant core student learning outcome. This individual must be knowledgeable of best practices in implementing and assessing academic support; must have strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and pedagogical skills. Experience in academic support and/or developmental education programs and services in a higher education environment is preferred. |
