Position Summary
The University of North Carolina ( UNC) School of Medicine is seeking a clinical faculty member to join our hospitalist practice at the large regional campus in Wilmington, NC. Our regional campus is expanding and growing quickly. This multi-specialty academic practice and children's hospital is part of an innovative partnership between UNC and Novant Health who recently also partnered with Columbus Regional Medical Center to provide specialty care to children from communities throughout southeastern and coastal NC.

This is a clinically focused position with a primary location based in a community hospital in Whiteville, NC. Candidates can also work at the regional children's hospital at Betty Cameron Children's Hospital in Wilmington, NC. This regional campus has a strong connection to a large academic group and quaternary children's hospital. Candidates must be BC/BE in General Pediatrics. This is a full-time faculty position, though part-time employment will be considered if desired. The majority of clinical time at the community hospital is care at a small Level 1 newborn nursery, delivery room resuscitation coverage, emergency department pediatric consultations, and management support for patients in the ED and occasional inpatient admissions. Call can be taken within the local area outside of the hospital. The regional children's hospital has full-spectrum hospitalist and subspecialty care that includes teaching and evaluating Family Medicine residents, UNC medical students and UNC PHM fellows. This recruitment is for three people to join seven other full-time hospitalists and five advanced practice practitioners who work with the hospitalist team in Wilmington to provide pediatric and newborn care. Depending on interest and experience, leadership opportunities are available.

These regional positions have regular UNC Pediatrics faculty appointments. These positions are open rank, fixed term faculty positions appointed in the School of Medicine at UNC Chapel Hill with a FTE between 0.5 and 1.0. The salary is very competitive and adjusted to a national private hospital benchmark. In addition to benefits include coverage of health insurance premiums including family and all co-pays, a 150% retirement match, and occurrence-based malpractice coverage.
