The MU Student Health Center (SHC) is a unit within the University of Missouri-Columbia's Student Health & Well-Being department under Student Affairs. The Student Health & Well-Being area consist of a network of care that includes the Counseling Center, Student Health Center, Wellness Resource Center and Community Providers. The SHC offers medical care with behavioral health consultation and psychiatry services. As part of Student Health and Well-Being, SHC providers coordinate treatment with counselors at the Counseling Center.

Job Description

Essential Functions

The Office Support Assistant IV position is responsible for managing and maintaining the inventory of medical supplies, medication, and equipment used within the Student Health Center. Primary objective will be to ensure that all necessary supplies are readily available for the smooth and efficient functioning of the Student Health Center. Must be able to follow designated processes and procedures to ensure the availability of required supplies.

  • Monitor and maintain detailed inventory levels of clinical and non-clinical supplies, medications, and equipment
  • Regularly check stock levels as assigned, identify low-stock items, and initiate requests for requisitions to replenish supplies
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and minimize discrepancies
  • Procure and maintain inventory at prescribed levels (Par and Perpetual)
  • Arrange and organize supplies, medications, and equipment in designated storage areas
  • Utilize storage techniques to ensure cleanliness, sterility, and ease of access
  • Implement proper labeling and tracking systems to facilitate easy identification and retrieval of items
  • Requisition capital equipment and coordinate special order requests (equipment rental, supplies, etc.) as directed
  • Perform varied filing and clerical duties. Process requisitions and credit memorandums; check tally-ins against purchase orders; prepare necessary data processing forms for new stock items; record documents in registers, listing such data as purchase order number, date received, and date issued; prepare necessary reports
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of storage areas; sweep, mop, dust, spray, defrost, etc. as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned
Shift

Monday - Friday; 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

This position may require evening and weekend hours supporting activities and programs within the department. Occasionally division and campus projects may require additional hours outside of your normal schedule.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a healthcare or inventory management role.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Range: $14.51 - $22.00

GGS/PAT Level: GGS 006
