This position is full-time (40 hours / week). Employees are required to work our normal business hours of 11:30 AM - 8:00 PM EST. Training will be conducted virtually from your home.

We offer weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of the training will be aligned with your schedule.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Work with hospitals, clinics, facilities, and the clinical team to manage requests for services from members and/or providers
  • Process incoming and outgoing referrals, and prior authorizations, including intake, notification, and census roles
  • Assist the clinical staff with setting up documents / triage cases for Clinical Coverage Review
  • Handle resolution / inquiries from members and / OR providers

Required Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • 2+ years of customer service experience with analyzing and solving customer problems
  • Experience with utilizing Microsoft Word (ability to create, edit, save, and send documents)
  • Experience with utilizing Microsoft Excel (ability to create, edit, save, and send spreadsheets)
  • Ability to navigate a computer to open applications, send emails, and conduct data entry
  • Ability to work any 8-hour shift between the hours of 11:30 AM - 8:00 PM EST



Preferred Qualifications:



  • 1+ years of experience working with Verifications
  • Experience with working within the Healthcare Industry
  • Experience with working in a Hospital, Physician's Office, OR Medical Clinical setting
  • Professional experience in a clerical OR administrative support related role
  • Working Knowledge of Medical Terminology to communicate with members and providers



Telecommuting Requirements:



  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

  • Ability to multi - task and problem solve

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
