Position Purpose |
Independently accomplishes all activities associated with planning and overseeing the execution of assigned annual and special College public events and programs including, but not limited to, summer programs, groundbreakings, receptions, and building dedications. |

Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities |
* Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience with five years of
relevant experience in event management or the equivalent.
* Demonstrated successful work experience in a large and complex environment where
collaboration with multiple stakeholders and flexibility are essential.
* Demonstrated creative planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
* Demonstrated mastery of logistical event management.
* Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate and manage high-level internal and external
constituents, including the most senior members and clients of an organization.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills and customer service ethic.
* Strong technology skills, including Microsoft Office and databases.
* Ability to prioritize and manage details on multiple events concurrently and in a fast-paced
environment.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Available weekends and evenings for event oversight. |
Preferred Qualifications |
* Staff management experience.
* Experience managing an annual event budget.
* Valid U.S. or Canadian driver's license and continued qualification as an Approved Driver under the Dartmouth College Driver Safety and Motor Vehicle Policy.

Description |
* Plans and manages complex high-profile on-campus events that accomplish specific institutional objectives while maintaining high levels of attention to detail, accuracy, sensitivity, and a continuous focus on the purpose of those activities. Develops program and event specifications through collaboration with colleagues, often at high organizational levels, while soliciting and scheduling their participation in events. Management of event details, including but not limited to, facilities, logistics, schedules, invitations for participants and guests, publicity, meal and lodging, cue sheets, memorabilia, staff assignments, briefing preparation, post-event evaluations, and problem solving of event challenges that are presented. Plans, executes, and manages all aspects of on-site event flow while professionally representing the College to visitors, alumni, parents, volunteers, prospects, and donors. |

Description |
* Supports Director and Assistant Director with summer programs, including but not limited to camp/conference contracts and Dartmouth program MOUs, maintaining data for upcoming season, summer program materials and registration information for camp and conference groups, arranging campus services for summer programs, including housing, dining, parking, and athletic passes. Trains and oversees the summer interns on the completion of summer responsibilities. Serves as liaison for camp and conference personnel with relevant College departments (Residential Life, Housekeeping, Dining Services, Parking, Athletics, Safety and Security, Hinman Mail, and the summer information booth). Troubleshoots for any of the group's on-campus needs. Maintains database, website, training materials, and files |
