Why This Job

The Capex Category Specialist will be responsible for administering and managing procurement activities for capital equipment related to specific categories and act as a key team member for maintaining critical supplier relationships. The Category Specialist will be a key link between internal stakeholder groups and suppliers. The Category Specialist will take a role in cross-functional collaboration and the use of sourcing best practices to maximize value in terms of cost savings/avoidance, risk reduction, quality and supplier performance.

What You'll Do
  • Administer Fabrication Equipment Category from sourcing to delivery, installation and acceptance
  • Manage CMC - Enterprise LLC rental fleet for pick-up trucks
  • Responsible for Tractor full-service lease and company owned tractors from order placement through delivery
  • Responsible for Trailer leases from order placement through delivery
  • Track fabrication equipment and mobile equipment orders with suppliers ensuring equipment is delivered on time to the correct location
  • Responsible for updating databases for tracking mobile and fabrication equipment
  • Utilize key performance indicators, (KPI's), and other forms of data analysis to meet or exceed department goals, objectives and forecasting metrics
  • Establish and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with stakeholders including but not limited to CMC Engineers, Project Managers Plant Managers and Logistics Managers
  • Responsible for monthly reporting of assigned equipment leases to finance and operations
  • Lead weekly staff meeting for analysis of metrics related to defined categories
  • Other duties as assigned by manager
What You'll Need
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
  • Fundamental level proficiency in negotiations, RFX execution and contracts preferred
  • Fundamental knowledge of procurement category management, costs & price management, total cost of ownership analysis, and project management
  • Fundamental knowledge of sourcing, supplier management and supply chain operations preferred
  • Basic understanding of mobile equipment and construction trades preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Your Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or related field
  • Professional certifications (ASCM/ISM), a plus
