THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Field Auditor 3 assists the Compliance Manager in developing fiscal compliance work programs to be used for the review of provider compliance with county and state financial requirements and new regulations. This position is responsible for assisting Compliance Officers with conducting on-site monitoring reviews, resolving complications that arise during site visits, and ensuring their work papers comply with industry standards. Having a keen eye for detail is essential for ensuring completed work meets acceptable bureau standards and time frames. Additional responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

  • Monitoring training and qualifications for Compliance Officers by ensuring Compliance Officers receive training on various compliance procedures
  • Conducting and assisting Compliance Manager on providing continuous training
  • Providing guidance and training to staff on all relative DHS, county, state, and federal regulations and policies
  • Supervising accurate and complete Certified Audit reviews
  • Training Compliance Officers on regulations and department procedures for Certified Audits submitted by provider agencies
  • Reviewing the Certified Audit reconciliations performed by Compliance Officers for regulatory requirements, completed department worksheets, and accurate reconciliation
  • Reviewing and monitoring misuse of funds

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Schedule hours may vary depending on the needs of the regional office.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a Field Auditor II; or
  • Four years of experience in progressively responsible auditing or accounting work, including one year of supervisory or advanced auditing experience; and graduation from high school, supplemented by six credit hours of post high school courses in accounting. Additional training in accounting, business administration or a related field including six credit hours in accounting may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to two years of the required experience; or
  • Three years of experience in progressively responsible accounting or auditing work, including one year of supervisory or advanced auditing experience, and one and one-half years of college level work, including or supplemented by six credit hours in accounting; or
  • Two years of experience in progressively responsible accounting or auditing work, including one year of supervisory or advanced auditing experience, and a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
