Scope of work The Assistant Nurse Manager is a first line manager in the administration of Ortho Surgery Services. Assumes responsibility for patients, personnel and the environment with accountability for assigned unit. Responsible for assisting the orientation and in-service education of the Ortho OR staff; responsible for quality assurance activities, policy and procedure revisions and infection control surveillance within the department. Responsible in assisting with the Ortho OR staff schedule and for performance evaluations on assigned staff. MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire from one of the following organizations - American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Canadian Heart and Stroke. Specialty Certification highly recommended within 2 years 2 years of experience as an RN, OR RN experience preferred Participation in leadership activities: unit, hospital, or system.
