Job Summary:

The Quality Engineer will report to the Quality Manager and assume responsibility for implementing and maintaining the Hydro's Quality Operating System at the Delhi, LA facility. Primary responsibilities include overseeing the extrusion process, ensuring product quality meets customer standards, identifying, and analyzing deviations, performing root-cause analysis, developing, and implementing corrective actions, and providing timely results and feedback to stakeholders.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related field) required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of professional or internship experience in quality assurance or related roles.
  • Proficient in interpreting and applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards, with at least 1 year of practical experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience using precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and depth gauges.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with at least 1 year ofusage in a professional setting.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems and their application in manufacturing.
  • Exhibit strong motivation, exceptional organizational skills, and effective communication abilities.
  • Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in aluminum extrusion or a similar manufacturing process is preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform press audits to ensure best practices are followed.
  • Inspect products and conduct process audits to verify compliance with quality standards.
  • Educate and clarify quality standards to production personnel.
  • Develop and update quality plans to enhance inspection activities.
  • Perform data and trend analysis on extrusion issues and quality inquiries.
  • Represent and promote our customer's expectations within our facility and processes.
  • Perform investigations and root-cause analysis on all quality concerns.
