This leader supports the objective of delivering safe, cost-effective and optimal medication therapy. They are responsible for overseeing pharmacy managers of operations-based pharmacy teams, University Hospital inpatient pharmacy and sterile compounding, pharmacy operations strategy, committees and other interdisciplinary groups involving pharmacy. They will collaborate with the acute care and infusion pharmacy leadership team, service line leadership, nursing, and medical leadership in support of optimal patient care. The director will coordinate all operational pharmacy services and programs to help obtain desirable patient outcomes through the use of safe, appropriate, and effective medication therapies. This position oversees pharmacy operations across the acute care areas of the UVA University Hospital, creating operational efficiencies, promoting standardization and advancing pharmacy practices. This position supports the education mission of UVA by precepting pharmacy residents and students.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Pharmacy degree required (Masters and/or Pharm.D.) from an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy. Master's degree required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
