Job Description:

• Provides clinical care for patients while they are in the hospital.
• Completes comprehensive patient assessments.
• Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness.
• Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician.
• Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment.
• Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care.
• Refers for specialty care when determined.
• Consults with physician when patient needs outside of Physician Assistant scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear.
• Promotes communication within the team and other interdisciplinary health care staff.
• Works with primary care team for program development.
• Acts as liaison with outside agencies as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Excellian, our EMR, is a software product from Epic and is considered one of the most comprehensive systems in the nation.
• PA or NP considered
• Casual position with day/evening coverage

• Master's degree Completion of accredited Physician Assistant or accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• Certification as Physician Assistant - NCCPA National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants or CNP through ANCC
• Active, non-restricted medical license in MN (or ability to obtain)
• Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI)
• Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and hospital privileges
• ACLS/BLS Tier 3 - required within 180 Days
• One year of experience as a Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner preferred
